Words that Go Unheard / Asking Jack Layton For A Favor

Arche Mdis

I wrote to Mr. Layton today and asked him to do me a favor. I will let you know if he does it later on.

Dear Mr. Layton,
my name is Arche Mdis and I wrote to some time back with some of my concerns for Canada and what I thought about how you and your party maybe doing more harm than good by splitting the Liberal vote. I got an automated response back acknowledging the fact that you received it and would respond to it if you thought it needed to be responded to. There was no further correspondence, but at least you acknowledged that it was received in some fashion. Thank you at least for that little show of respect it goes a long way.

Now that I have thanked you I have a little problem with the letters I sent to Mr. Ignatieff and Mr. Harper, I got no response automated, or any other way from them. I am assuming that they are respectfull of the voters of this country and that they did not recieve their letters. I was wondering if you could see that they each go to see them for me. I have included each of their letters in this e-mail and they are yours as well as theirs to use in anyway that you think will help to bring this country back to the proud, caring, voice of reason that we used to be known for around the world, before we elected a government that ws ashamed to be Canadian.
I may ot agree with your approach to politics, but I feel in my heart that you mean well. I thank you in advance for your help.

Letter To Mr. Harper
Mr. Harper my name is Arche Mdis and I am from Montreal Quebec. I was a little concerned writing this letter because bad things keep happening to people who disagree with you publicly and do not support you blindly. I guess I just need to know why you are doing to the country what you are doing to it. I know you love America we saw that when you betrayed our forest industry and Canadian workers and settled the soft wood lumber dispute for less than the world court awarded us. You and your party have traded our reputation as a peace maker, a voice of reason and a country that could be trusted to do the right thing and brought us down to the status of a warrior nation and clone of the United States.

Why sir do you wish to punish the poor and the less fortunate than yourself? Every law you pass is against the poor. You cut budgets to everything decent and helpful and have even set out to destroy our returning veterans. You pose with the native people of this country , dancing and taking pictures with them, while behind the scenes you and your party work hard to deny them what is theirs. The long gun registry, the firing of all who stand against you, your total disregard for law and all I can think to ask you sir is why?

You are trying to stop the people of Canada from helping certain refugees and fighting to force non Canadian solutions to humanitarian problems down our throat. You and your party have wrapped this all up in a blanket of fear mongering designed to make us fear our Muslim neighbours and I think that you and your party need to be stopped by way of a vote of non confidence. If you continue along the path you have chosen that is destroying Canada, I think your picture should not be installed in the hall of the Prime Ministers and as in old times your name should be stricken from all documents and from all public spaces. There should be no memory of your having led this country to the most undemocratic, insensitive, non Canadian time of this country’s history.

Did you ever fight in a war, or are you one of those behind the desk generals like ex president Bush. It is not too late for you though, you could start acting like a true Christian who believes in God; God’s commandments and God’s promises. It is not to late to find the compassion you pretend to have and become a servant of the people, or you can remain the miserable excuse for a person that you are proving yourself to be and have an identical legacy to your buddy ex-President Bush. Maybe you can have a interview with David Frost like Nixon did? How does it feel to know that the Americans went out of their way to see that you did not get any support for your bid to get that United Nations security seat? You have been used sir by your friends to the south; they sense your political usefulness coming to an end and are leaving you to the mercy of your people.

What kind of people have you made ministers in your cabinet? I have watched their behaviour on CPAC. Live performances daily on how to interrupt and thwart the law and due process both in Question Period and in committee, by your MP’s. These ministers of yours laugh at democracy and the Canadian people. They are shameless and look quite childish. Is having power affected you and your party so much? I was at a rally for the Conservative Party. It was at a golf course on the Island of Montreal just before a federal election. MNA’s and the hopefuls were there and it was a nice day for golf. After the game while having cocktails my partner and I sat and chatted with some of the younger members of your party. They discussed your party’s plans to do nothing about acid rain and global warming. they said that by time the problem was life threatening they would be long gone, dead and buried, so why should they suffer the financial losses now that a clean air and water bill and laws would cause. Let the children of tomorrow worry about it, seemed to be the general attitude around the table.

I guess our shocked silence was taken for agreement and the wine they were drinking started to loosen their tongues, because next they outlined your party’s strategy to deal with the poor and needy of this country. Welfare people were the scourge of the country and did not deserve a vote. They did not contribute and should have the rights of a person in jail. I told them that my mother was on welfare and raised her children alone and that sometimes people end up on welfare due to no fault of their own, but fault, or not they were still Canadians.

It was then that they knew we were not of the same conservative mind set as them and moved to distance themselves from us, but it was too late and it was the last time I heard the truth from any Conservative member of your party. I did send a letter to Jack and Michael and told them what I thought of them as well. Maybe I will give each of you a copy of each others letters and see what the truth does to politics; we know what lies do. Have a great day and thanks for letting me vent.

Michael Ignatieff

Letter to Mr. Ignatieff

Dear Sir,

My name is Arche Mdis and I am from Montreal, Quebec and I have some issues with the way you and your Liberal Party are behaving and how you have decided to be the official opposition for life. Are you all deaf blind and dumb. Do you not see what the conservatives are doing; can you not hear them laughing at you and this country; have you lost your voice to speak for us the Canadian people? I used to think that all Canadian politicians at least wanted what was good for Canada and were perhaps a little misguided when they tried to translate this into actions, but I am not so sure of that these days. I understand the Blocs actions because they make no illusion as to their purpose. The bloc is only interested in how things benefit or hurt Quebec and in trying to squeeze every last thing in can for Quebec while waiting and trying to separate from Canada. What is wrong with the rest of you though?

Why have you allowed this bully of a man Stephen Harper and his cronies to do the things they do while you sit and show your support of them as you vote with them time after time and then whine later. By this I mean you have had plenty of chances to remove this man from office, yet you say Canadians do not want another election; translation Liberals do not think the climate is right for them to win. Your party is like a boxer who has taken a bad beating in the ring and has lost their will to fight and the confidence to try. How long do you and your party intend to let Canada suffer under this maniac before you act?

Mr. Harper has made your party a laughing stock at every turn. He has played you like a fiddle and made you dance to his jig; pulling your strings as though you and your party were mere marionettes. Sir, how are you any different than Mr. Dion and how under your leadership are the Liberals any different as a party? How can you expect a nation’s people to vote for you when you show day after day that your party has no backbone and no self confidence in what you want for this country? To sell it you must first believe in it

The longest journey starts with the first step sir and it is high time you took it. You sir and the Liberals have a long way to go, but your first step is to take action and stop waiting on polls. Canada needs to get back to our Canadian values and we need a party that is not ashamed of being Canadian. If you and your party do not take the step towards becoming a real party of action again than you and they are just as responsible for the destruction of Canada and its total assimilation into Statehood as that fool who sits at the head of the Canadian government today.

Sir Canadians grow weary of the witch hunts and the laws created to take away our rights and freedoms. We were never a people of war and war atrocities. We were respected as a voice of reason around the world; now we are shunned as an American clone and all you do is sit on your hands and wait for a sign that will never come. Your first step must be one of faith. You must prove that you trust the Canadian people and let us show you that we trust you.

The Conservatives are faltering at every turn. Their ignorance, lies and total disregard for Canadians, democracy and the rule of law has caught up to them and is choking them. The question is, will you step up to the plate, or stand there quaking in your boots and let them recovery politically yet again?

In closing I would like to say that if you are not part of the solution than we Canadians consider you part of the problem. If you do not think that you are good enough to lead the country back to its proud heritage than neither do we. We are waiting for a sign from you and there you sit. It is rumored that all you Liberals really want is to pick up your pay check and the fear of losing that if and election is called keeps you from calling one. I for one hope this is not true, because your country needs you and your party to step up to the plate.

Trust in yourself and get up and walk. You may stumble and fall down, but your legs will get stronger with every attempt. You can not win if you do not run. We the Canadian people are waiting for you to either compete, or step aside and let someone with courage and a vision lead the party to victory. Surely there must be one, or two amongst you who calls themselves a Liberal, up to the task.

Thanks for listening to me,

Arche Mdis
