Vic Toews, Public Safety Minister, and Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, make an announcement related to terrorism research funding during a press conference in the foyer of the House of Commons on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on Wednesday, May 30, 2012. (Sean Kilpatrick / THE CANADIAN PRESS).  With these types of announcements being made about spending money on stupid studies while shutting down studies that could really help Canadians it becomes increasingly clear that neither Prime Minister Harper, or his cabinet ministers know what makes a good law-abiding citizen turn on its government and take any action necessary to end its tyranny.

Lisa Raitt talking about shutting down  the CN strike, yet another legal strike speaks to the back door ending of any and all legitmate strike positions and finally puts to an end all claims by this government of upholding the collective agreement process in Canada.  The forcing back to work legislation used every time workers seek to utilise their legal right to strike, tilts the scales in the direction of big business and allows  employers to force their will on the Canadian worker.  Most workers in Canada have already taken pay cuts to keep their companies operational, with the promise of better days ahead while their bosses have shared the benefits of company profits by taking out monies to give themselves millions of dollars of bonuses and all under the watchful eye of the Canadian government and with their approval.  When a government gets in bed with business and leaves the worker out of the equation when dividing up the profits there will be labor unrest.  When the worker is denied a living and a way to support his family with the pay he receives from his labor, there will be labor unrest; when the government says you will work whether you like it or not for the wages your employer and we deem fit whether that money affords you a living or not, there will be labor unrest. It is this growing displeasure with the government and life, that could cause the people of the land to seek the removal of the government by any means necessary.

It would seem that our bail out strategy for the American company GM was another way this government has screwed the Canadian tax payer.  While our workers are forced to take pay cuts, endure never-ending pay freezes, get forced back to work when they strike, companies like GM take our tax dollars to help them not fold, ship it to the USA, forget to pay us back and then close their doors in Canada and throw the Canadian worker onto the street  and use our money to create more work for Americans in the USA.  All this is happening while this a Harper led majority government makes it next to impossible to collect unemployment insurance with its sweeping changes to our unemployment insurance laws  in their omnibus budget bill.  It is clear to me that this government does not have the faintest idea on what causes a law-abiding citizen to be driven to the point of such desperation that it turns against the government and begins to rebel and demand things be put right, or they the people will end the governance by any means necessary.

We have the Prime Minister talking about Canadians needing to stop spending their money foolishly and start  tightening our belts and save more for our retirements, as he takes in ball games and uses the official Canadian jet to get there paying not only for himself, but for some of his pals in his government with Canadian tax payer dollars. Then he gets angry and demands to know, why these actions make us angry.  When we have Bev Oda running all over the place repeatedly breaking the spending rules, trying to charge Canadians for what is not theirs to pay, one has to wonder if anyone in this government has ever heard about the French Revolution and ever thought to understand why and how it was brought about? Has this government really adopted the attitude of, “Let them eat cake”, with all of its eventual problems? When we consider this attitude it is clear that this government has no idea what drives and ordinary God-fearing, law-abiding population to such hopelessness, such despair that it would consider taking the law into its own hands and removing it from office by any means necessary.

Time for Harper to bring out the broom? – The Globe and Mail , says it all as far as I am concern and attest to the fact that this is a government gone wild, with no scruples and is totally power crazy.

It is of no surprise to me that this government claims it does not know what causes a citizen or a group of citizens to commit violent acts against its government. The evidence that they have no clue rests in their actions and their method of governing.  Most governments strip away human and civil rights slowly, so that a population does not catch on until it is too late.  They remove one law at a time, but not Mr. Harper and his crew they went for it all at once in one sweep.    They removed all of the non governmental over sight to the government.  Closing veterans affairs, Indian affairs, environmental affairs and giving sole power to the cabinet ministers, which in reality means the Prime Minster.  By doing so he is attempting to have total say about how the country is run thwarting and side stepping democratic process and in doing so telling Canadian citizens that the only say they have is in the electing of a government and not in the running of the country.  This attitude might work when all is going well, but when a country is suffering  people want to feel that if they are being asked to  suffer for country that it is not because some government official can live high on the hog without guide lines, rules and without their consent.

Everyone else in the world knows what causes terrorism with the exception of this country’s government led by Stephen Harper.  Most governments are guilty of trying to stop these acts without doing and taking the steps to right the wrongs and injustices in basic human rights which they violate every day. Vic Toews has to be the only idiot on the planet to openly admit that he is committing troops, tax payer money and weapons to combat terrorism when he does not know the reasons, or if the reasons have merit or justification. In other words we could be bombing and punishing people, imprisoning them and deporting people, who after the studies and information has informed Mr. Toews and company of whys and hows of terroism and terroist  we could find that these so called terroists may have had every right to be doing what they were doing and in fact we should have been supporting them.  Why are we doing things to people when we are not sure how and why they are doing what they are doing?

What makes a home-grown terrorists out of an ordinary hard-working, usually law-abiding citizens is?

  •  A total frustration of a people of a country with their government’s governance of them?
  • When these normally law-abiding citizens have exhausted every legal attempt to try and get justice, equal rights under the law and freedom from persecution, illegal imprisonment and execution and get punished for their efforts.
  •  When a man and woman can not obtain a fair wage from their employers, a wage sufficient enough to raise and take care of one’s children and family is denied and all attempts to get that wage by bargaining legally gets shut down by their government.
  • When a government attempts to take the power out of the citizen’s hands and put in their own and ignore democratic process and the will of its people
  • When a government separates its citizens by class, race or religion and puts one type of citizen above the other
  • When a government becomes too arrogant and too drunk with its power and forgets the needs of its most fragile of people

All of these things or anyone of these things will turn ordinary law-abiding citizens against their government, because the government in the end gives the citizen no other choice.  For supposedly very smart men and women they are not familiar with history.  History explains it very well and speaks to the downfall of governments by the people over and over again and still governments get arrogant and forget they are there to serve the people not be served by them.    Terrorists used to be called freedom fighters and before we in Canada became warriors we were not afraid to lend our support to a just cause.  Now we bomb to gain human rights, freedom of speech, freedom from persecution, democratic governance, education for all, medical treatment accessibility for all citizens and all the things a government should be offering its people, while we as a government systematically remove those rights from our own people.

Vic Toews, Public Safety Minister, and Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship and Prime Minister Stephen Harper need look no further than a mirror to find out why people become terrorists.  They are sowing the seeds for such actions everyday.  The announcement that they had no idea what was behind terrorist acts only confirmed what I already knew. Our government is just a weapon used to combat so-called  terrorism,  a weapon being pointed and fired by some other entity; we are pointed at a target and shot and like all weapons, we know not who we kill, or why we are killing  and we do not care, because that is not our function and not our need to know.
