Are We An Ignorant People, Slow To Grasp Things, Mentally Incompetent An Unable To Determine What Is Good For Us?

ArchemdisAre we an ignorant people, slow to grasp things, mentally incompetent an unable to determine what is good for us? If we are not then why is the government going forward with laws and legislation that a majority of Canadians do not want and saying that they are getting requests for these laws and that they are doing these things for us?

For example: This government sees protests to its changes to the way it is dealing with the First Nations People; The national chiefs are at the doors of  parliament itself demanding to talk with the leaders of this country change the way they are dealing with them; the First nations citizens are blocking bridges and holding protest marches and trying to get the government and the people of Canada to understand that they are not happy with the way that this government is treating them, with one national chief going on a hunger strike, just to try to get the Governor General and the Prime Minister to talk to her about the problems as she sees it between the First nations people and the government and the Prime minister insists that he has made the decisions he made with full consultation with the  First Nations People and that whatever he is doing is being done as an answer to those request and despite all of the protesting those people know that what he is doing is for their own good and if they do not see it now they will in the near future.  Is the Prime Minister insinuating that the First Nations Chiefs are lying as are all of the people protesting his actions across the country? Is the Prime Minister suggesting that First Nations People are so backward, so ignorant, so confused that they are not capable of deciding what is good for themselves and need to be treated like they are a people suffering with a diminished capacity? I ask this because how else could one possibly see all that is going on with the  protests outside on the hill by the leaders of the first nations people and the first nations people beside them and stand up in the house of commons while all this is going on outside and saying that you are acting in the best interest of the same people that are protesting your actions?

We are supposed to have the opportunity as citizens of Canada to utilise collective bargaining, in otherwise we have unions who are supposed to look after our right to fair wages, work safety issues, retirement package and other benefits and except for a few work places deemed essential services, politicians tried not to use legislative powers to force Canadians back to work, was workers were in a leal position to strike.  Well now if it does not fit in within Harper’s, “Economic Plan” then Harper’s Labour Minister will impose a settlement and force you back to work, insisting that this is best for Canada and ultimately best for you even if you do not see it right now.

Well we must be ignorant people, slow to grasp things, mentally incompetent an unable to determine what is good for us, because why else would the Harper government keep insisting that a federally funded Medicare system where every Canadian can get all of their medical needs attended to without fear of being turned away because of lack of insurance, or having to refuse a life saving treatment for fear of the cost might wipe us out financially is not sustainable when all of the facts say that it is, and secondly that we would be better of with our own insurance coverage where we know that the cost would increase while our pays stayed where they were, because collective bargaining has been suspended  in Canada, because it does not fit in to the Harper government’s ,”Economic Action Plan”.

We must be an ignorant people, slow to grasp things, mentally incompetent an unable to determine what is good for us, or why else would the Harper government make it harder to get Unemployment Insurance when more and more Canadians are finding themselves out of work through company closings and no fault of their own and keep telling us they are just trying to motivate us who have worked all of our lives to seek work?  If we are not all of those things mentioned above then why would this government think that seasonal workers such as fishermen would think that their lives had been improved because the government says that they now need to work at something else, because they no linger qualify for unemployment insurance, no matter how old they are? We know the Harper government with its strong, stable, majority can get away with just about anything it wants in terms of passing legislation, but why would this government think that we would see it as good for us if they did not think us, ignorant people, slow to grasp things, mentally incompetent an unable to determine what is good for us?

We must be an ignorant people, slow to grasp things, mentally incompetent an unable to determine what is good for us, because  why else would the government insist that it is for environmental protection when it has put our rivers lakes and streams in danger of being polluted on a serious level. Why after making Canada the only country to repudiate the Kyoto Accord does this government still try to say that they are environmentally friendly and are working hard to address environmental concerns?

Finally we must be ignorant people, slow to grasp things, mentally incompetent an unable to determine what is good for us or why else would this government feel that we would rather F-35 Fighter Jets and Hercules Aircraft out fitted with cockpit control knock off parts instead of making the social services more accessible, to seniors, veterans and those who are our most fragile Canadians.  If we are not an ignorant people, slow to grasp things, mentally incompetent an unable to determine what is good for us, why on earth would the Prime Minister and his government ignore the needs of its veterans and seniors to have things the need quickly by firing of over 2,00o civil servants needed to hear cases, process them and make the decisions that get these people the services and monies they need?

How could we be anything else but a country full of ignorant people, slow to grasp things, mentally incompetent and unable to determine what is good for us, if we just stand by and accept all this as okay as just politics in Canada as usual without putting up the slightest of objections?  This government thinks that we the voters are ignorant people, slow to grasp things, mentally incompetent an unable to determine what is good for us, or tell me why they think they can place themselves above the law and above the rest of Canadians?  If they did not think these things tell me why they think that because they have a majority government they can not be stopped and that they will once again be voted into power?

I say they can not be stopped because we the voters have given in.  I think that it is time to take the power back from the conservatives, community by community, city by city, province by province and finally force them governing the country federally with the power of our vote.  If there was ever a time for change in this country it is now and I say the change needs to be the conservative party knocked off of its high and mighty throne.
