From An Abused Child To You / B.C. Girl’s Suicide Begs Answer To The Question, At Whose Feet Do We Lay The Blame For These Tragedies?

Children who take their own lives are trying to tell us something and we are just not listening and so they keep on doing it hoping that their deaths will finally get us as parents to hear them. They are telling us that they have no where left to turn, they do not have the tools to survive and find life no longer worthwhile living. They are telling us that we as parents, as a society, as governments and institutions of higher learning that we have failed them and to please stop pointing fingers at each other and do something before another child finds life too much to bear without the tools he or she needs to survive in this crazy world we keep sending them into day after day. Childhood Memories Shape The World That We live In

Family times should be filled with discussion on all topics, political theories, social values, economic realities, environmental issues and concerns respect and tolerance for all people no matter how different from us they appear to be, because it is in our collective memories that the world of today and tomorrow are shaped. Honor Killing / Can We Say Not Here When Religious And Cultural Beliefs Are Used As A Defense For Murder?

I lay no claim to knowing why and what makes honor killing okay in the minds of some Muslims, who believe and carry through with this ideology and to be quite honest I do not really care why, I just want it to stop. This is one issue where I can not be swayed and will not tolerate any excuses. Child abuse and murder is just so wrong no matter by what authority, or by what reason the adult gives themselves as entitlement; I know this from personal experience. Continue reading

Just Trying To Escape The Pain, The Hurt, The Fear And The Hopelessness

I have secretly thought of my younger years and my behaviour back then as that of a frightened rat, backed into a corner. They make alley ways, or runways in buildings for rats so that they can escape when frightened by approaching humans, looking for files and such in rooms in sub basements. They do this because a frightened trapped rat will jump up to 5 feet, sometimes more to bite what it feels frightened of and trapped by. I felt trapped and very much like that trapped rat backed into a corner with no way out. Continue reading

Politics Asside All Levels Of Canadian Government Are Failing Canadians

Municipally, provincially and federally this great country of ours and our people are being over taxed and ill-served. The fact is that the level of mismanagement of tax payer money is now bordering on criminal. One only has to look at the situation in Montreal to see that all governments are doing it shamelessly. Parents Killing Their Children, “Economics Versus Humanity”

I see the unbearable suffering, the never-ending pressure to live as the problem. I see the freezing of salaries and the never-ending increases in all things needed to survive as the problem. I see a government that does not give a crap about its people as being the problem. I see the deaths and the heartache as a final result of people seeking a misguided sense of peace and respite to a situation for them that has become never-ending and hopeless. I do not condone this taking of life, but I know what it is like to feel that death would be a welcome thing and what is to wish for it.

From The Most Vulnerable To The Most Dangerous People On The Street We All Have A Story To Tell

Let me dispel a misconception about those of us who live, or have lived on the street, or have lived by the rules of street life. None of us really want to be there, but once there we will do what we … Continue reading
